Saturnalia is a Pagan holiday that starts on December 17 and ends on December 25. The Christians decided they were going to make Christmas on that day, hopefully to get converts. And since Jesus' birthday isn't even in December... WebThis was inspired by this post and the many other comments I see each year claiming Christian holidays were all simply stolen from pagan ones. After having looked into such claims a fair amount, I don’t see them holding up to scrutiny. But in the case of Christmas, there is good evidence that December 25 was not chosen because of any pagan winter holidays.
