Web6 jan. 2014 · I have Lowther DX3s in Fidelio cabinets. That's a narrow folded back horn with the mouth at the lower back. Mine were built by a reasonably competent carpenter, not by me. The plans show a ton of separate panels to cut, but it looks more tedious than technically difficult. Despite the complex cabinet, the bass is still too light for me. Much of the huge mid-bass and midrange dynamics I experienced with the back loaded horns were all but gone. That's just over 300GBP. Even allowing for the recent deflation of the pound, that is a far cry from the 2400GBP they are charging for the Acousta kits, which are of similar complexity.
